Fair Use Policy
This Fair Use Policy applies to the DashboardFox cloud-hosted service and defines the platform capacity limits and usage guidelines applicable to each subscription tier. It is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
How limits work
DashboardFox subscriptions are designed to support the typical usage patterns of the customer segment each tier serves. Limits exist to ensure fair allocation of shared infrastructure and to maintain performance for all customers. They are not intended to penalize normal, good-faith usage.
The following categories of limits apply depending on your plan tier:
- Monthly Active Users (MAU) — the number of distinct users who log in to any workspace under your agency in a given calendar billing month. MAU resets at the start of each billing cycle. Scheduled report recipients who receive emailed reports without logging in are not counted.
- Concurrent scheduled jobs — the number of report delivery jobs that can run simultaneously across your workspaces.
- Public View Licenses — the number of reports or dashboards that can be published for unauthenticated access at any one time.
- API rate limits — request rate limits applicable to programmatic access via the DashboardFox API.
- Storage — limits on data imported into DashboardFox via Excel uploads or API data sources.
- Custom domains — the number of custom domains that can be configured across your workspaces.
Occasional overages
We do not automatically suspend access for occasional or minor limit overages. If your usage temporarily exceeds a plan limit — for example, a spike in MAU at the end of a billing period — we will not interrupt service without first contacting you.
Consistent overages
If your usage consistently and materially exceeds your plan limits over multiple billing periods, we will contact you to discuss upgrading your plan or purchasing applicable add-ons. We reserve the right to suspend access if significant overage persists after we have given notice and a reasonable opportunity to remediate.
Infrastructure fair use
Use of the Service must not impose a disproportionate load on shared infrastructure in a way that degrades the experience of other customers. This includes, but is not limited to, running large numbers of simultaneous scheduled jobs beyond your tier allocation, using automated tools to generate excessive API traffic, or querying very large external datasets at a frequency that causes sustained elevated resource consumption. Where we detect usage patterns that affect platform stability, we may throttle or temporarily restrict the relevant activity and will contact you to discuss.
Questions and add-ons
If you are approaching your plan limits and want to discuss add-ons or plan upgrades, contact us at team@dashboardfox.com. Add-ons for MAU, Public View Licenses, and custom domains are available for purchase directly from the management portal on most plans.
